Over 70% of vehicles on the road are fitted with air conditioning and climate control systems as standard these days.

During the hotter summer months, you're likely to use your air-con system more; however your system is also useful in winter. Air-Con systems create dry warm air rather than the normal humid air from outside and this de-mists your car windscreen more quickly.

Many of us are familiar with using air-con in our car on both hot and cold days and appreciate its benefit, but you may not be aware that over 10% of air-con gas permeates from the air-con system every year, which means that it may not work as well as it should.

The system we use, can be used to refill cars using R134a, usually those manufactured after 1994. The gas used to top up your car's air conditioning system, is a natural hydrocarbon and acts as a direct replacement for R134a gas with the added benefit of being non ozone depleting and is safe for the environment. It is also lighter than R134a and so allows your system to run more efficiently and puts less strain on automobile parts.

The cost to get your car's air conditioning system topped up is £65. This includes a air-con clean, worth £20, which eliminates bacteria and viruses from the air ducting leaving the vehicle with a bacteria free air conditioning system, and a fantastic fresh odour.

Air con top up is designed for vehicles that are low on refrigerant gas, (i.e. no cold air produced inside the car). We cannot, and do not, do any form of air conditioning repair, please seek advice and help at a garage if your cars system is not working (e.g failed compressor).  We do not provide any refrigerant gas recovery activity at any stage therefore the regulation that requires us to have a 'safe handling of refrigerant certificate' does not apply to air con top-up services.
